Dave was in the UK a couple of weeks ago, he went to Mclaren where a friend of mine works. My friend showed him around, all the special projects stuff ( that he manages) the F1 stuff(no one gets in there) and other areas. He said he was a really nice guy. Your 57 looks killer btw
Took the car to the Auto-rama last week. Entered with some friends. The T-Bird was a local race car in the 60's. Has a 427 Cammer. The model A is a friend also. He raced it in the 70's and sold it. The new owners didn't do much with it and my friend bought it back last summer and restored it to the 70's look. He's 85 years old now! The Corvette is another friend. He built his car, I think , because he liked my 54 so much.
I just sold a steering column that came with the car for $60, bringing the purchase price down to $2660.53!
I haven't seen that T bird in a few years always cool to see that cammer engine. I Didn't see you and Debbie wandering around when i was there. I had to explain to my friend that the motor in my 56 came out of your 57 and that your car was a race car about 2 years ago. Anyway still looks good.
Yeah the cool factor is off the chain with this car. Amazing work on it, and thank you for staying so true to the original. It’s the finest eye candy. Makes me want a 57 210 post every time I look at this thread lol.
Had a big Weekend! Sold off the remaining Tri 5 parts that came with the car for $2000. I don't think I'm doing any more tri-5's, so I got rid of everything. The guy traveled 4 and a half hours to pick up a trailer full of stuff. 3 hoods, 2 nice sedan doors, Fibergl*** front end, trunk, and bumpers. 3 or 4 Radiator supports, several heaters, a big pile of stainless trim, headlight rings, 3 rear gl***es, new coated fenderwell headers, and just about everything else you could unbolt from a car. This sale brings the original purchase cost down to $660.53! Wow! I still have a few non-57 parts left, like a Dana 60 posi , 4 Mark Williams 35 spline axles, 4 Mopar 30 spline axles, and a pair of 15x8 Center-Line type wheels. I don't know if they will bring 6 hundred bucks, but it's going to be close. I would never have guessed that when I bought this thing for 30 grand, it would be nearly free in the end. Of course I've put money back in to it, but to recover nearly all the initial investment is pretty remarkable to me.
"And the hit's just keep on coming!" I just sold the aluminum race seats from the car. $300 more bucks off the original price. We're down to $360.53. I've only got the Dana 60 Power-Lok diff, those aluminum wheels, 2 pairs of Mark Williams 35-spline axles and 2 pairs of Mopar 30 spline axles left now. That's potentially worth more than $360, but time will tell. I'm going to get this thing for free if I live long enough.

Just sold a pair of 35 spline Mark Williams axles that came with the car for 135.69. Down to $224.89 now. I recently came across a nice pair of 90/10 Lakewood drag shocks that also came with the car to put on E-bay. I'm gonna end up getting paid a few bucks to take this car by the time it's all said and done.
