The Houde manufacturing Co wanted everyone to pronounce it their way but no one ever did or ever will in this country. Aviation folks have been calling them who-daily for years and most that I know will never stop. The man who started Lockheed corporation had to change the name in order to get folks to pronounce it the way it was pronounced in the old country. I think it was originally spelled Loughhead. Folks got to calling it "lughead" so he by golly changed that right away. Most French folks I've ever met are far too stuborn to ever do that. You pronounce it their way or ged ouda hia.
