JeffreyJames - Excellent thread and well organized on your part. I like the open minded look you took on the SBC and all other traditional engines out there. I can see no reason to bad mouth any engine that a person chooses as long as it's dressed real cool.
I have run Chevy's for a long time and love them 265, 283, 301, 307, 327 and the 350. My favorite would have to be the 327.....

Jimmy B pulling out the big guns!!! No tri powered 265's for you huh? Just blown injected screamers!!! Those are so rad. Something so very awesome about the small size of a Chevy engine with hilborn's on top. It's just a tight package. All killer no filler...

Did you notice the shift gate on the mouse who could roar? That's pretty cool.

Thanks Cruiser, I love 'em too.

i got my first 265 when i was about 12 years old, drug it from the junk yard down my old mans basement steps, ruined the carpet by the way, tore the dam thing apart! dont remember much after that except the ass beating! but i do know theres 7 more smallblocks in the garage right now. one going in a 98 inch slingshot, 40 some years later, still cant get away from them! great motor! thanks for thread jeff.

Haha, yeah! just showing SBC broad spectrum of options.
I was always a fan of Mighty Mouse not any that Mickey Mouse crap :D:D:D

Ken's dragster was the 1st unblown dragster into the 8s.

Ha, I missed that. I was distracted by the blown injected mouse.

So what should I put in my '37 Nash to be "correct"? Nash didn't make a V8 and I sure as hell won't be running a straight 6 in my hot rod!

  10. Whatever you want!!!!

SBC's fit in just about anything, and buck for buck will make more HPs.

And 12 pages of posts show, they are traditional!

  13. Those aren't "late model" heads. They are aluminum heads. You missed that completely!! :)

Someone made a comment about how many of the rods in my thread were running Chevy motors.. And I got the idea to add these on here..

From Hot Rod Yearbook No. 5 in 1965..

Wow another major dose of vintage SBC's! Thanks TexasSpeed. Oh, and to the lone troll who just had to post a drivel, start your own thread on Ferd's!
