i am looking for a proportioning valve for my car. i am running front discs and rear drums. i also am running a dual master cylinder from a mustang. any suggestions on what proportiong valve i shoudl use for my brake system? thanks!! Jason
You might want to check this out instead of fabbing a used part to work for safetys sake www.speedwaymotors.com put this part number in the search box 835-2601119
We've talked about brakes many times.... Just remember.... get parts that work together, that are designed to work with each other, it's so important!!!! Call an expert, spend some time to do it right the first time. You have a huge investment, don't skimp on the brakes with mis-matched parts!!!!
genosslk-i totally agree with you on that!! but i need to know what is the correct part for my setup? im ***uming i can use the stock distribution block since the car originally had drums, and now has front discs and rear drums. also i am noticing on my master cylinder that one port is larger than the other. but the larger port is on the smaller resivour (spelling) but wouldnt you think the larger line shoudl be on the front brakes? or am i just backwards? Again i have made it known that this is all new to me and i have no idea when it comes to brakes. i just want it all to work properly and be safe!! jeffb2-i copy and pasted that number on speedway and nothing came up??
I have a granada combination valve for $25 shipped to you or you may consider installing an after market adjustable proportion valve, because there is less plumbing involved in the adjustable proportion valve. Keep in mind the large chamber in the master cylinder should be closest to the fire wall that is for the front brakes. The front chamber is for rear brakes that is where you install the adjustable proportion valve for the rear brakes. Dave
