O/T?? Absolutely not! You're building the next generation of hot rodders! Way to go, bet she was the envy of the other kids....
My son isnt so into the cars, I think hes been around them so long he takes them for granted. But he does apreciate the art side. My 3 younger daughters love them and want to be droped off or picked up in style every chance they can get.
Good for you! There is nothing like those special moments. You will both remember that day. My little girl is turning 14 next month, and still remembers riding around in the 53 wagon when she was small. OT NO WAY!!!
Very cool . My youngest daughter has laid claim to my caddys when I am gone. Always wants to be dropped off at school. the car has been parked for a year . she wants me to get it back on the road as I do . she will never forget this event. cherish these moments .
Hot rodding is about building memories as well as the cars , your little lady won't soon forget the time you shared with her. Well done ,Dad.
That's great. I use to pick my Stepson up from school in a He****, he hated it, but I also bought him Happy meals for girls too. Dean
Family first. I can remember when my kids were that small. It goes by in a flash. Enjoy it while you can! This picture says it all!!
Awesome, I'm in my late 30s but I still remember the first ride in the family HotRod all these year later. You can certainly believe that this is going to be one of those special life long memory's for her too. Way to go man, absolutely awesome. Doc.
Great memories and priceless pics. I use to take my niece for rides all the time in the '32, when she was a toddler. When she reached driving age, I asked her if she wanted a car like mine. She said yes, does it have air conditioning and an automatic? I said no. She said she wanted a newer car then (LOL). However, she still loves to ride in my rods..........
THIS is the main reason I need to get my truck back on the road - so I can share it with my 11 year old daughter before she gets too old and gets her license. VERY cool post! This is what it's all about!!!!!!
not OT at all- cant wait to do that with my daughter- but i'll be in a speedster- that will be a little harder with dresses, hair, and c****ats.
Taking mine to the dance on Friday, we have gone for 3 years now and it is a great time. It is all about teaching them how they deserve to be treated (with respect) when they get old enough to date. I don't want mine to learn the ways of dating and dances from a 16-17 year old boy I want her to learn it from me. I don't want her going into any situation unprepared and nervous, that makes for some bad choices. It is great no wife or other disruptions to lead us away from us just quality time. I encorage every father on here to find one of these dances in their area and get out with their daughter.
Thanks for all the kind words, stories shared, and words of wisdom. There are many things that many of us can do on this site like rebuild carbs, rebuild transmissions, etc. but many of those talents come from instruction manuals, trial and error, making mistakes, and getting do overs. Children don't come with instructions or rebuild manuals and certainly no chances of do overs. The quote above is some of the best advice though... I, too, encourage all to get out and take a daughter, neice, son, or nephew and go have a day like this. I can't stop talking or thinkin about.
My Grand Daughter likes to be in the garage with me when working with my projects. She also likes to be with her dad when he is working in the garage as well. Here is a picture taken a year ago or so. She also wanted to have her own tatoos like Grandpa so we got her the one day water colour tatoos LOL. Thanks Frenchy
What a great thread;I was fortunate enough to have my daughter(during her rebellious teenage years) as my "cruise" partner many a night. She dug the late-night "performance contests" as much as I did.
very cool............ another generation of hot rodders, the pic of her in the coupe said it all, cograts sir. dermott.
How could anyone think that this was off topic? You have a great looking hot rod and you are posting this thread about a super memorable experience. A great thread you posted and I love it!!
Man I think I must have allergies because my eyes sure are watering. I have two daughters as different as night and day and love getting the opportunities with just each of them and spending time doing what interests them. Luckily my younger daughter likes to go fishing, to the drags, junkyards, baseball games, all kinds of cool stuff. My older daughter likes going to plays, book stores, coffee houses, etc. but I still have just as much fun with her doing that as I do fishing with the other. I think that little girl would be smiling just as big if you were just taking her for ice cream. It's not the event, it's the time spent. It's really cool that you are so excited that you want to share the memories with us. God bless.
