Just from the previews it looks like a lot of cars were used. I think a bunch of us will kringe when they start shooting up the cars. Kill Depp but not the cars.....

Anyone know where they got the cars? Hopefully they used the magic of Hollywood and shot up fake ones.

They bought a 35 chevy standard from me for the movie. I'll see it tonight and see if they used it like they told me they were going to. Evidently Johnny Depp cant drive a stick, so they were putting a 350/350 in it so he could drive it. We'll see..........

They shot a few bank robbery scenes here in Oshkosh and used a bunch of local cars for the shoots.

  11. There's a two or three page thread on this that was at the top this morning, dating back to the fliming of it - have to wonder what they wrecked for this one.

There was an article in the local paper about one of the cars from Davenport, IA they used, a Packard IIRC that got some bullet holes and was even painted another color for some other scenes. The movie company repainted it it's original color and returned it to the owner nicer than when they picked it up and it had been pretty nice to start with. It was the only car to serve dual roles.

  13. just got back.....good flick and they dont trash too many........ And yeah a bunch of hotrods in it..peep mirrors etc. a true tumbs up and they show the cops being fools then also........and they glossed over some stuff overall a good movie to watch,it was made by Micheal Mann (miami vice tv show)

Me and a buddy stopped and took pictures of them in a motel parking lot on our way to the L.A. Roadster show. And yes all but one car had a SBC.

Your wife has the coolest job. She must be very good at it too. I remember the awards she won a short while back.

A lot of the cars are local cars from Wisconsin. A friend of mine that restores Model T's had a '23 touring and a '25 truck in the movie. I think his dads '27 coupe was also in the movie. They got paid to bring their cars to the different locations for filming.

  21. a lot of the scenes were filmed in milw, oshkosh and columbus, wisconsin with local cars.

maybe so, I have never met him. I'm just going by what they said when the car was delivered to the film studio lot. I would't dispute it either way, I dont know anyone in the movie production either, but I'm sure there is a reason they converted it to 350/350 - if they did at all. it might be bullshit for all I know.
