pulling a steering wheel, help!

I've had a store bought puller for 40 years that looks very close to 36-3window's self made puller. the bolts you need to screw into the wheel's hub sure like to grow feet and run off though.

 

I've busted a late saginaw column using undue force on a steering wheel.
Definitely keep a puller around, guys.

As for spending $5 in gas to return a $12 rental tool some derelict has stripped... Shell oil loves you.
