I'm also a fan of brakes no matter the weight. I'm also a big fan of Surge Brakes.
Once adjusted, they work great & no controller to hook up, or worry about.

I like having brakes. If the trailer starts to wander, a tap of the brakes can straighten it out before it really gets crazy. People have a light trailer that doesn't legally need brakes then load it up to the point where it does.

A rear axle sway bar is also very helpful.

I was going to ask if that's the outhouse in the front of the trailer but I'm sure you heard that many times.

Is this your (only) hitch connection point to the frame?

I just looked the website up.
Whole backing plate etc, 12", $46.95.
I'll be jumping on this shortly.
    Thanks.

Just pulled my 45 covered wagon with Eddie's.png my 39 from Phoenix to Sarasota Florida
4 wheel disc brakes on 39 and just installed disc brakes on trailer. Electric over hydraulic, love it.

we dragged a little teardrop trailer i built for about 10 years with my 41 olds but the trailer only weighed 700 lbs. i could see behind it with my peep mirrors. i did put a camera on the rear license plate surround that worked real well.

Pulled this little Burro trailer for about 5,000 miles all together, never had a travel trailer before this one.
