Pulling out the engine on my Ford F1 V8 tomorrow. I was planning on using bolts attached to the hole castings for the exhaust manifolds. Is this a good idea? Is there a better place to attach the chains? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Whenever I pull a flatty, I usually take the Intake off and use the Intake holes to bolt the chain on. Never had a problem with that.

I use the intake or head bolts.
There are about eight bolts + a few wire connections holding the entire front end sheet metal and radiator assembly on the 48 - 52 Ford Truck - Two people can lift it with ease (One person if their desprite)

So when you put the engine back do you put the intake manifold on after? I am thinking that you would have to because of the gasket. Is this correct?
