Muncie. . .you are correct, the car is from san antonio. We made the round trip in 10 hours on Saturday. I hope to have it road worthy in time to make the trip to austin for the round up. . .any groups leaving out of houston Friday morning? If so, i'd love to roll with a pack of old cars!!! Tim, I'll come see you about that visor, got any skirts?

I can't believe it's been almost 4 years since I went and picked this car up. I've considered adding it to the "sitting and rotting" picture thread on multiple occasions but just couldn't bring myself to do it. I haven't done much to the car in the past few years. Changing jobs, getting married, having a beautiful daughter and traveling for work have shoved the car to the back burner and I'm admittedly ashamed of my progress. They say the first step to getting help is admitting you have a problem. . .so here I am! I have managed to rewire about 80% of the car using a Rebel Wire kit, just need to crawl under the dash and wire up my gauges. I rebuild the entire brake system (with the exception of 1 rear brake line which i need to cut and flare) only to realize that huck brakes suck. I've obtained a rear end from Robleticia (thanks ROB!) and bought a set of bendix type backing plates off of Eyeball (thank you sir!) in order to upgrade what I have. I now realize that I'm missing everything else to swap the front bendix brakes into place (Cash in hand if someone has everything laying around!) so I'm thinking of buying a disc brake kit and a dual reservoir master cylinder but need to do more research first. I've pulled the interior and stripped the floors, sprayed self etching primer where I cleaned to avoid doing that again. I think all that i really need to get on the road is a decent set of tires and a swift kick in the ass! Now that I've spoken up and admitted my faults I'm ready to get back in the game full force. My budget will always be limited but my determination won't soon fade. Thanks for checking in, I promise to keep the ball rolling.

On a side note, I'll see you Texas boys and girls at Day of the Drags next weekend!

Sure! It's plastic, and comes in a big roll at your local parts store!

That makes it sound cheap and lame, but lots of people have asked about it over the years. I actually plan to take it off when it's ready for a new paint job.

That kick in the ass sure worked...rebuilt the carb, worked on minor electrical issue, cleaned and prepped the floors, then got the car fired up on Sunday!
