Pumpkin Sally Open Day

I took a train for a coupla hours outta Tokyo and got in a cab with a VERY Japanese driver, and carefully fed him the info "old cars" and he took me STRAIGHT to Pumkin Sally's...It's one of the most respected shops in Japan, and when I saw "Shorty" at the Odaiba show last week, he said "Man, you gotta come along for our party!" .....So I did!

I pulled up and there's nicely painted trucks spilling onto the street, and a dude in olskool overalls stopping traffic to let rods in and out, and dudes pinstriping stuff, and a rocker band doing their thang, and Nash from Burnout smirking "when they told me a gaijin from Australia was coming, I guessed it would be you, Mark!"

So they had a list to put down your name to get taken for a spin around the block in ANY olf the rods that were there!

 

This Crazy Cat was striping like he was on fire!




and Japanese artist GHOST had a booth there!

 

and EVERYBODY was SUPER welcoming and friendly! There was beer and burritos and just a DAMN GOOD DAY!

 

and YES......Im PISSED that I didnt have my REAL camera!

 

That`s Ken the Flat Top. This dude is good. He came down to Okinawa and did alittle striping. He will also be at Santa Maria

 

Oh Yeah!.....he kinda mentioned that!

He got married in Sydney, Australia!
