Purchasing a vehicle without seeing in person

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Pocarroll, Dec 22, 2012.

  1. I have both bought and sold cars long distance/online. One was a 48 pickup that I still get regular emails and updates from the buyer (in Canada) but the reason I'm replying was on an old chevy that I posted on craigslist. Asking price = $300. yep, 3 (not so) big bills. Guy calls from 250 miles away and tells me he only needs the rear axle but he'll take the whole thing and scrap what he doesn't use. Guy hooks up his trailer and drives over. Looks at the car and says the one fender is rustier than he thought it would be. I told him it was rusty beforehand. He repeated that he only needed the rearend but was hoping the car would be a lot nicer. FOR 3 HUNDRED FUCKING DOLLARS. He got back in his truck and deadheaded back home. 2 weeks later he called to see if I still had it.. I thought about telling him to drive back over just because but I told him it was sold.
