Purchasing a vehicle without seeing in person

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Pocarroll, Dec 22, 2012.

  1. I have both bought and sold cars long distance/online. One was a 48 pickup that I still get regular emails and updates from the buyer (in Canada) but the reason I'm replying was on an old chevy that I posted on craigslist. Asking price = $300. yep, 3 (not so) big bills. Guy calls from 250 miles away and tells me he only needs the rear axle but he'll take the whole thing and s**** what he doesn't use. Guy hooks up his trailer and drives over. Looks at the car and says the one fender is rustier than he thought it would be. I told him it was rusty beforehand. He repeated that he only needed the rearend but was hoping the car would be a lot nicer. FOR 3 HUNDRED ****ING DOLLARS. He got back in his truck and deadheaded back home. 2 weeks later he called to see if I still had it.. I thought about telling him to drive back over just because but I told him it was sold.
