I bought mine and am not a painter so happy with it. What I read is you need to take them apart and clean the assembly lube out of them before using it.
I have primered my truck with it, 2 years ago. I blew apart the front end & used the gun for final paint on the underside. Then a coat of primer outside just to cover the bare metal. While hanging on the clothes line.
I still have 3 small patches to weld in, needs work before I spray the Rustoleum enamel from tractor supply .... please do not beat me up over a beater with a heater puddle jumper ... at least it is not a r@t rod patina rig.

then painted a metal garden shed last year ... was spring time needed to plant so never painted the raised bed.
Been using the same gun for 2 years for different projects.
Today I plan to paint the raised garden bed

This morning at HF, I ask Manager if sale was over . He says yes, but I can give you weekend price of $9.99. So I bought one just to have .

I use them a lot. Shoot a lot of non auto stuff with enamel and poly. Have modified them to shoot primer.

Gasoline cleans those paints just fine, then a quick rinse with thinner. Ready to go.

    Sharpe guns for good paint.

I'll try to get the w/e deal tomorrow. I've used them for years. Mostly primer.
If you keep them cleaned, they work ok.

    thanks,

    jim
