I decided a couple weeks ago, I was going to tear the roadster apart and start refining a few things that didnt suit me when I built it this spring. So I started with the body and I planned on just respraying the red oxide, but before I was done it was shiney black. Check it out , Im thinkin I might put steelies back on maybe a cream color to match the top maybe black, not sure yet kinda like the 5 spokes too. Planning on making some changes, adding a couple numbers to the doors and lettering, maybe lakestyle headers and a few other changes.................any ideas, probably stay with a 60s style.

1st picture was in may after getting it together.
2nd picture was after the top and I sprayed a little black and color sanded till it rubbed through.
3rd today after I rooled it out after paint.

Looks quality , gloss black always looks good when done right , excellent.

  5. I like it very much. It seems to become an entirely different car when the "shiny" is on there.

You got my attention when you painted the roadster BLACK. It's looking very nice and the cream wheels will too. Very cool...

Looks great! Henry would be proud of your color choice. By the way, what size are your front and rear tires and wheels?

Thanks for all the comments, I still will have to sand and buff, its not perfect but I didnt expect it to be.

Tires are 145/15 front and 265/75/15 in the rear.

Ill post more as I progress.

    Thanks RP

Looks great and I agree with the cream wheels. Keep the 5 spokes around for a little change of pace if the steelies get boring. Wheels and tires can change the whole look and for the time to spin 20 lug nuts off and on it's about as cheap as it gets.
BTW, what brand is the top? It's got a perfect profile.

Hell yeah, I love the shiny... the cream wheels sound like a good idea.

Nothing you could have done would have made such a huge improvement. Well done!

It was cool before, and even moreso now. It will remain cool with whatever wheel combination you decide on.

Fab, its a Sid Chavers, I chopped the glass another inch = a 3 inch chop and then we snugged it up to the body a little better and layed the glass back just a small amount.
I thought these tops were outrageous price wise but after I got it and installed the quality is excellent, probably money well spent.

    Thanks Jerrod

I think it looked better topless, and with the steelies.

but it's not my car and it looks good in black!!
