Put the 700r4 in my '37 Ford. Bought the bracket from Chassis Eng. Those guys know their stuff. I was real happy with all the parts I bought from them. Good Luck, Kent

I have done a couple of them with good results using the Fat Fendered Street Rod shop lower plate. You can make this plate yourself, but for the money his is the way to go. The frame with the riveted center member is the easy one, but the welded center can be cut and spread apart also. Looks at SAR's website, Steves Auto Restoration in Portland and click on the 47 converts they did. You can see the modification is easy to do yourself. I personally think the 350 with a 3:00 gear is just as good and a lot cheaper. I have both in my cars and the 700r4 is a good 1st gear transmission buts thats about it in my experience.
    Good luck.
