Busting out ****s to finish the stretched cab 32 roadster for the trip to the LARS. Need small diamond pattern 1/8th inch thick rubber matting for the floors. No longer available from the supplier Antique Auto Restoration Supply in a bulk roll just 3X4 sheets. The pattern matches the 32 running boards. Any other sources?
We did the floor in the '40 with this material and I love the way it turned out. This was six years ago and Restoration Supplies carried it then. They did say that it was getting hard to find even then. Seems like there was a place in New York city, maybe "Wholesale Rubber" or something similar that had it in bulk rolls as well. Hope you can locate some as it would be perfect for your Roadster build.
You used to be able to find this sort of stuff at McMaster-Carr, but no more... They do have something close, but it's got a foam backing pad and is pretty thick. Maybe s****e the foam off?
I've done 2 deuce roadsters, a deuce 5 window and a deuce truck with the material in your picture from Restoration Supply when it came in a bulk roll 47 inches wide. I called yesterday and its only available in 36X48sheets. That size doesn't work without visible seams.
I bought a floor mat at Home Depot 2 yrs ago. Iirc, they had a few sizes available. Looked to me very much like the stuff not easily available from the “traditional” sources already named.
Restoration Supply Company, www.restorationstuff.com, 1-800-306-7008, has it in 5/32" pyramid by 36" wide, slightly bigger than what you are looking for but they might send you a sample.
Not sure if this is the right size pyramid or not. https://www.cl***icboatconnection.com/flooring_flags_pennants.pdf
Already talked to Restoration Supply. they only have 36X48 sheets and it impossible to make them work with out a seam showing. I used to buy it from them when it came in a roll and the roll was 47 inches wide by whatever length you needed. Made for a tidy installation.
