Go for it dude. The guys against it just aren't into show rods. The weird proportions and outrageous styling is what makes them so awesome. Its like developing a palette. Some folks just never grow past pizza. But sometimes you just get sick of pizza and start wondering what french food tastes like. Then you learn to appreciate it. At that point when somebody who really likes pizza says "french food ****s" you kinda just know that they dont get it. Doesn't mean they won't at some point:)

The purple car belongs to my friend Jeff now, he's taking it back to how it was in the 60s, and the grill setup for that car RULES. Very similar to the lil coffin 32 sedan above. These wacky show car ideas aren't or everyone, but trust me, when you roll into a show with one of those things, everyone's head turns!

I turn my head to look at train wrecks. That doesn't mean I like seeing them. That's like rat rodders who say, "Everybody was checkin' me out." Yea, they were, but that's shock. NOT admiration.

i would normally be thinking Blechhh... Until a few years ago when a buddy of mine built this car. I know it isn't quad headlights in the strictest sense, but it could easily have been, Matter of fact, the previous design for the nose was. There is more out there than just a deuce grill shell...

J'aime la cuisine française. Véhicules qui sont similaires sont ennuyeux.

  12. I say, build your car for you, not anyone else.
Will you quad taillight also, will a custom setup & bodywork?

In my opinion, putting quad headlights on a model A is like putting braces on this.

When she was a kid, she used to sing in a local church in 5th Ward. She had braces then.

The "Little Deuce Coupe" as it's commonly called and the "Ala Kart" are 4 headlight custom hot rods that are icons in the hobby.

The rest of your car should be on the custom theme as well to pull it off.

I don't even know what you're saying. So show cars are rat rods?

I wholeheartedly support the right for anyone to build a show car that looks like a dozen or more others at the show, and is never remembered, for any reason, good or bad. If that is what you want, go for it.

And some of you folks wonder why I don't post build pics.

  22. Take a look at some photos of late 50s/early 60s big rigs before you conclude they're not old enough to be period.

Metaphor. It means, just because people are looking, doesn't mean they like it. That glaring look could be shock. Like rat rods, they get looked at, but not all the looks are in admiration. You said everyone looks at show rods, but not all the looks are because it's cool. I didn't say show rods were rat rods.

Quad lites can look good, but they should blend with the whole look of the car. They're out of place, if just tacked on at random. Style, baby. Each person has the freedom to do as they please. Some things can and often are done to a certain standard that's been accepted as the norm or good form. You wouldn't wear pink cowboy boots on the beach, would you? The boots may be nice and cost a **** load of money, but it just won't look right compared to what is acceptable wear at the beach.
