Has anyone used Quality Auto Carpet in Chicago? I sent them an inquiry by email regarding carpet and headliner for my '54 Ranch Wagon. I expected an reply by email but instead got 2 voice mails from Jim regarding my inquiry. I finally was able to take his 3rd call (at 9pm his time) Jim was very helpful and was informed about Ranch Wagons and he sounded like a car guy. He took almost 15 minutes explaining the various options even though I told him it would be months before I would be ready to place an order. He is even sending some carpet samples for review. I got a good feeling about this company but just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or actual dealings with them? Thanks.
There was a company here in CA. Central valley years ago, 2 friends of mine worked there, one as a 'cutter', the other as a 'steamer'. Allen said they sold MANY for '58 & '59 Chevys, expressly. They had patterns and molds for Fords back to 1941. Think they are gone now, haven't seen the guys either, everybody's moving out of our 'paradise'... Only one in CA seems to be 'OC' in Simi Valley, (L.A. area) Not sure how far back they go (in model years)
I don't remember who I purchased my headliner from, but I bought all the carpet & upholstery from IDC Trim & Upholstery supply in Duncan, South Carolina. I will ask my pal Dave if he remembers where we got the headliner. HRP
