This is a question for you Washington guys. I'm looking for a good shop that does upholstery, and good place for exhaust. Any suggestions?

I would make a post on the main HAMB board . You will get more responses that way .
    Just a thought .

Also if you attend some local shows and Cruises ask people who they would recommend,if you have an upholstery supplier ask them too, mine handed me several business cards and gave me some background info.

Yup, what Jeff said. Best way to find out - at least in my experiences - is word of mouth (WOM).

I found the guy to do my seats, headliner, inner rear 1/4 trim panels & package tray, both thru WOM and a local collector car mag that did an article on him. Ends up he's a "Tijuana transplant" who worked with his dad doing soCal cars for many years then moved to this area. Very reasonable, Juan works out of his garage but will come right to your shop to install the stuff. Great guy.

And thru WOM I also found a shop to do my exhaust. He's down a little dirt road less than 10 miles from home and advertizes for Diesel repairs. So happens he also does custom exhaust stuff, again very reasonable. You'll likely find the independents who don't splash their ads all over the place to be less $$$ because of lower overhead.

But yeah, hit some of the local cruises & shows, see something you like & ask the owner who, where, etc. Most of the folks at our small town cruise shows will often bring a folding chair, sit down & either lend an ear or provide some interesting info.

BTW, the bucket seats in your '55 look very much like mine did in my '56 when I got it; I found out from someone on the HAMB that they're out of a early/mid 60s GM. Later on, I saw some like mine in a '65 LeMans convertible.
