The guy told me the were 70's for sure. I'm thinking $750.00 is a fair price with 7 engines and 1 is still brand new in the box, along with a dyno machine.

I also ended up with a brand new small engine dyno & valve grinding machine in the deal. If anyone might be intersted, send me a message.

July 31 1974 Phonixville Pa, sorry in advance for being from 1974 but I thought you'd all get a kick out of these pictures. I've got more but I thought I'd test the waters first. enjoy!

It's not older. If anything, it's newer.

Steve in Kurtis 6 5 66 Hayward.jpg Steve in Luther Hayward June 1966.jpg I raced quarter midgets during 1966. Living in Alameda our home track was Hayward but we also ran at a dirt track in Sacramento called the "Cracker Jack Track". Also ran at Baylands which was always a night race. My first car was an old Luther then we got two Kurtis cars and a rigid for the dirt track. Two photos for now. Will load more soon.

I scored this midget racer sitting in a backyard of a house we bought. I had to pay 800 for it, its got the rear cowel not pictured. Anyone know what brand year it is?

Would have to see the nose, but it could be a Racecraft. It sure was never raced with that engine and drive set up.

Picked up this (what I think is a) micro midget the other day. Cage has been modified/added to a lot. Stored at a friend's house for a few days then I can get it home and dig into it further. No idea why the bumper is on upside down.

  30. Found this little book;along with two others on early racing in an antique shop the other day.Apparently a private printing(no publisher's name in the frontispiece) about an organization I never heard of and I grew up in New England. Mostly biographies of the members with a few action pics. Couldn't complain about the price: $2.50 per book.
The Wagner book I just finished reading and was very interesting. First published in 1938 Clymer re-printed it in 1948. Fred Wagner was the official starter for just about every major race in the country starting in 1899! A great perspective from another angle. The Ted Horn book will be started tonight.
