Ok, a while back I said I'd do a post of how to get the ¼ windows out of these tudor bodies. It sux and it's way better with help, but that said I hope this helps. 1st move is crank the window up til the stop screw shows in the access hole. Next I cracked all the screws loose on the regulator and took out the single sheetmetal screw that locates it til adjustment. With the gl*** partial down a little slipping and sliding gets the regulator out of the channels. It then drops down and comes off the 'J' looking guide. Note the gl*** position and the regulator. The regulator then tips vertical with the fwd portion down and then moved toward the B pillar, and it will hang on the inner panel by the riser. swing it into the car and the riser drops out. Now the gl***... It gets lifted straight up and tipped into the car at the top. Watch your opening, edges, align the gl*** with as much fore and aft room as you can get then tip it in. It now comes up n out. Note the gl*** position. This picture above shows where the roller for the vent feature works out the well. It's an opening up by the B pillar. That's it, out. I was nervous as a ****** in church because my gl*** is still kool and dated 4-39. A few edge bubbles that only time creates and gives it character. Here's the empty window well and funky control for the vent feature visible on the regulator. Hope this helps and answers questions. No cutting needed! Cussing is a given but no cutting. Good luck...
Man that’s some effort! In the 46-8 Tudor it’s like 4 screws and pull the garnish molding and the entire inner panel, mechanism, and gl*** all comes right out.
Nice, but they ain't nearly as ***y looking as a 38 dlx-39-40 tudor. The old saying about "...one must suffer to be beautiful" probably applies. I do like 41-8 too but...
Thanks for this, I had to hunt around alot to find the info before, hopefully this will help me put them back in, eventually..
