I Being The Moron I Am Took A Guy At His Word And Bought An Axle And Juice Brakes From A Guy Here In Lubbock. I Finally Got Everything Pretty Much Put Together And The Right Wheel Is Tweaked In. Does Anyone Have Any Advice On Fixing This, Or Should I Go Throw It In His Front Yard, Buy A New One And Call It A Lesson Learned. Thanks, 30modelcoupe
can you see anywhere that there is a kink in it?? you can bend it back...ive straightened them succesfully and i know "tommy" has done one or 2 with heat mine was bent in the middle so i just bent it back with a hydraulic press put the car on level jackstands and then pull the spindles and check the camber on each side to see how bad it is good luck Zach
I'm going to tag onto this thread and ask, can your front axle be out of perfect alignment at all? If so how much? I'm talking camber and caster. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just can't believe all those axles roaming the streets are 100% straight.
I doubt you have a Major problem at all. Bending the Axle is how you fine tune camber/caster on an I-Beam. Go talk to your alignment guy before you go any further. They are tougher than you think. The Wizzard
I straightend my model A axle on a large press where I work. They will bend a considerable amount and spring back, so sneak up on it so you don't over bend it. This was a while back but I recall that the kpi was around 10 deg.(?) and that is what I shot for.
