Here is what i have, picked up a 1930 roadster on a orig. 1932 frame, basket case.owner had a 1930 assembled title with it.I didn`t want to use it so i got a "1930 Historical Doc."
does the number on a 1930 have the star before and after the number were it is stamped in the frame? I wasn`t sure about the historical doc thing so i called my local tag service and said i bought this 1930 roadster from ny and i need to do the title work.they said bring the car by so they can look at the serial number, told them it wans`t running and in pieces. Then they told me i can pick up a form and have a cert. PA inspection mechanic verify that the serial number is on the car. does this sound right??

1932 chassis with a V8 had the number stamped in three places. The easiest and most noticable is on the left side at the firewall feet on the top of the frame ...

Here is a photo of one of mine ...

    It reads 18 * XXXXXX *
( X represents digits ... and can range from one to six digits ... depending on the number ...

The star is a Hollow star outline ...

    :D
