I have seen time to time rants about what year model cars are approved for viewing here and what not and was just wondering if pre 64 is basically the norm here or could late 60s muscle be shown? I mean I have seen some hydraulic'd late 60s impalas but dont want to start a thread which would step out of bounds which is why the question here is asked.Reason being is My brothers family project drag car is a 68 Impala sports coupe we built ourselves and is really quick, low buck and gets attention everywhere it goes. Thanks for any input. Mods can delete the thread if needed. Brian
A bunch of other people will chime in with the years for street cars, etc. I've noticed that restored and/or period correct race cars (drag, circle track, etc) up through the very early '70s are strongly embraced. Nobody is going to flame a pic of a restored Sox & Martin Super Stock car, some pics from a late '60s drag race, or some one finding a '67-bodied race car in a barn somewhere. Otherwise, it seems street cars are cut off at the muscle car era. -Brad
Yep as said it totally depends on what is done to the car..... Stock restos are out...... pro anything is out...... but anything customized or hotrodded to a 60's feel is in
I sure would appreciate if you shared some pix .... Most threads last a day or 2 ... Seveties paint-jobs .... late sixties G***ers ... "Rat-Rods" ... Italian Race-cars .... We likem all IMHO Klaz
Thanks guys for the replies and no flames or slams. pics for those who may want to see an old grandma Impala that runs high 10s. First pic is a launch from our local track with wheels up. The rest of the pics were from PINKS in Shreveport this year and a shot of a real cool Tempest and a few other pre 64 rides..
They may be 'pre-64' cars but are they traditionally styled...? i'd have to say no. Tha question is not only what year was the car made but what has been done to it since. i'm sure there is some drag racing board that would appreciate pro stars and letterbox scoops a bit more.
maybe the pics should be moved to drag cars in motion thread........but hardly none of my pics are in motion either.....guess I cant win. We do have a set of painted steelies with dog dish hubcaps and a flat hood we could install at any given time on our 68.
"Heavens to mergatude", do they give you a set of Centerlines when you register your car down there or what?!
