Hello all! I am ready to fab a winsheild frame for my 23't and was wondering how some of you guys are making yours. My idea was to use 7/8" solid aluminium round stock and mill a groove for the gl*** seat. what size of groove should i mill? How is the gl*** secured in the frame? welting, urethane winsheild glue? The screen will be about 8" tall with no top bar, in other words there will be 3 sides to the frame. Im open to any suggestions. i have done many searches on the hamb with no luck. Thanks guys! I dont know what i would do without the hamb!

Welting probably won't work in a 3 sided frame because the welting fits tight...and it will try to push the sides out.

The only thing I can think of: The urethane, but you need some way to keep the gl*** centered in the groove, plus a way to keep the gl*** from bottoming out while it dries. So, what if you made a few thin/narrow strips of some rubber/vinyl stuff that is the same color as the sealer, and place them in the groove in a U shape. That way, the gl*** can't touch the metal frame while the sealer sets up firm???

That is exactly what I was concerned with. Thanks for the help! Rubber strips sounds like a good solution.
