I have a 1937 plymouth and on all four doors there is rust in both bottom corners from the bottom to about three inches up and extending from the corners about 3-6inches. My question is how should i go about fixing that? I dont want this rust to ever come back. should i cut squares in the corners, cut straight across the bottom of the doors,...

    Hey,

"ever" is a long time! The sucessful repair of a rusted body panel requires the complete removal of all known, and suspected rust on or in the panel. This will probably require that you cut open the inner shell, as well as the outer skin of the door shell. I'd remove about 1/3 of the paint from the bottom of the door, until you find no rust on the metal. Cut out all rotten metal and fab patches and/or skin, as necessary. Weld, prime and fill, as necessary, to complete the repair.

There was a thread a couple of months ago where a member repaired some seriously damaged doors, I just don't remember what the thread was called... Maybe someone else will remember what I'm talking about :D
