Hi, guys, I'll be joining you at the H.A.M.B. yesterday! I own a 1965 Mercury Comet and live in Switzerland
I have a question for you, ideally for a French-speaking Canadian, as I don't understand the name of the H.A.M.B.

Best translation might be silly little message board. Or something similar fir car guys.

 

Yeah, Hokey meaning silly. Ass as a informal meaning, relating to foolish. Message board. Or in simple terms I guess a great group of silly off the path people that enjoy this culture of cars.

The story I got was that when Ryan started the Jalopy Journal some folks suggested that he include a message board so people could communicate with like minded, traditional hot rodders and custom guys. I think he was a little reluctant at first, but finally relented and said, "OK, here's your hokey ass message board.".. @Ryan, please correct me if I'm wrong. The rest is history......Don.
