I have a website devoted to Bullet Nose Studebakers. Recently someone sent me pictures of some cars from down under but I'm not sure if they are from Australia or New Zealand. I've tried contacting a couple of Studebaker clubs from there and their response is that they've seen some of the cars but don't know the owners. Can anyone help to put me in contact with the owners? I'd like to add some information about the cars to my Bullet Nose Paradise website. I also wonder if these cars were exported from the USA or if they were built in a factory located in Australia or New Zealand. After looking at some of the Studebaker club websites, it seems like there are a lot of them there.
Since I'm too stupid to figure out the GMT + or GMT - thing, I probably posted this in the middle of the night for the down under guys. It's now 11:00 AM Mountain Standard Time in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and I'm wondering how I can figure out what time it is in Australia. I may have to BTTT this post several times until someone wakes up down there!
That black and gold flamed one is from NZ. Trev Halsted is the guys name he has plenty of Studes. I think have some photos too
Does he by any chance have E-mail? If so could you put him in touch with me. It's also hard to tell from that photo if it's a 2 door or 4 door sedan. Do you know? And what the heck time is it in NZ now? Are you just getting up or getting ready to go to bed?
Pretty sure the silver one is an Aussie car, looks like it has an Aussie licence plate. Its 8.45am here right now (NZ), give or take a couple of minutes.
Ok to figure out time zones for NZ.In the USA summer subtract 5 hours from Pacific coast time and you will get NZ time. But realize that they are a day ahead. In the winter after daylight saving time has hit it is only a 3 hour differance.Hope this helps.Example 6pm in the US on Tuesday (Pacific Time zone)means it is 1pm NZ time on Wednesday.
The silver car is owned by Jo Fregon but it lives with her Dad, Roy Fregon at Metung in the Lakes area of Victoria. You could send an email or PM to Roy thru the Ozrodders.com site where he is old32 or I can ask him to contact you using that method. He drives the Stude to events when he is not game to drive his 32 channeled roadster LOL. swifty
Swifty, I found old32 on the site you mentioned but it wouldn't let me send him an E-mail message because I'm not a member. Can you ask him to E-mail me at relicrod@pair.com? Thanks, Bullet Nose
Tony Martin here from Sydney built the orange one......PM QQMoon as he see's him more often than I do...plus Tony isn't online... Cheers, Drewfus
Ok from what i know the orange car is on a HQ holden ch***is and rides on Bags it is powered by a 302 Windsor with C4 auto backed by a 9" fuel is LPG and the car was a four door made into a two door not sure on the chop but i would say its lost a few inches any more info required just ask and i will ask Tony QQ
Bumped to the top for all you boys who just got home from work and have finished dinner. Enjoy your evening surfing the HAMB and have a beer for me. Thanks for the info on a couple of the cars. I'll have them posted on my site soon.
Trev (Top pic black and gold) lives just down the road and is a mate. The car is a 4 door with big block chev. He is building a very very nice station wagon version. Major custom work. I will drop in tomorrow and see him hopefully I can get some pics. PM me with your email address. Cheers Peter
Thanks to everyone who tried to help me get info about these cars. I was contacted by Roy Fregon and am waiting for him to respond to some questions I have about the car. QQMoon - Thanks for the info. I didn't realize it had been made into a 2 door until you mentioned it. I'd like to know more about it and maybe get some photos of the interior and engine. I'm not familar with Aussie cars or what kind of engine the Holdens have. I though they were GM products but may be mistaken if it has a 302 Windsor. Also details about the amount of chop and any other work that was done to the car would be helpful. Someone named Greg E-mailed me some photos of Trev's herd of Studebakers but I'd still like to have some shots from the rear and of the interior of the black 4 door for sure. Again, any details about the car make for more interesting reading. I also received a lead for info on the blue Starlight Coupe from a member of the Studebaker club. I really enjoy looking at pictures of the cars you guys build down there and some of the unique (to the US) body styles they made in Australia. On another note ..... what's the best selling beer there?
I've been working on my website and have posted some new Studebakers this weekend. While doing this, I also created a couple of pages for these cars and am hoping to get more information and photos of them. Trev Halsted's Chopped 4 Door Sedan Roy Fregon's 2 Door Sedan Any suggestions or questions?
Never got anymore info about the Studebakers in Australia and New Zealand. I took the little bit of info you did provide and created another page, this time for Tony Martin's orange 4 door to 2 door that has a terrific looking chop. The page is Tony Martin's 4 Door Sedan If anyone can put me in touch with the owners or provide me with more details about these cool cars, I'll gladly update their pages. (273)
Not sure what happened to the photos in my original post but here they are again ..... I lost the photo of the blue 2 door sedan when my computer took a dump last July. I did just add a page to my Bullet Nose Paradise website for Trev's Sedan Delivery .....
