Just curious, has any of you been asked to pay (not the entrance price, but like a professional vendor) at a car show when you come to pinstripe ? Especially little "traditional" car shows, with 50-100 cars not big Goodguys events...
Most of the time when I attend a show with the intent of striping,I usually buy two vendors spots;one for my tent and the other for my car.Usually isn't a whole lot of money anyway.
Safariknuts car is a rolling art show. The bigger the show, the more they want.Usually. Some smaller shows actually cry for a Striper to show up. When you start paying real money, they will limit the number of Stripers at the event.
If you are going to be making money, someone will want a piece of the action. Most guys over here prefer to work under their own tent. It gives then more room to work, and they are out of the sun. Plus,it saves dragging everything around. After you pay the promoter, can you still make money ? Some places are so expensive, relative to the market, there is no way to be profitable. Unless you can jack your prices way up,but that only works in Daytona and Sturgis.
if your not going to pay for a spot.. then just take ur box of paints and go. the smaller the show, the less chance anyone will bother you
