I Have a SBC in my Coupe with a sequence of numbers stamped on the pad on the front passenger side of block, V0503T. Under that row of numbers is another set of numbers C3J114351.

I have had no luck decoding these numbers. Any help will be apperciated.

And the "C" indicates truck. Chevy car would have started with "1".

The "J" is the assembly plant for the vehicle, but I don't know what city that is.

I should have mentioned that the "3" (second digit) does indicate 1973 model year, though Rattle Trap suggested you already know that.

It can only be a 307/115hp or a 350/155hp. Aren't there any more letters after the "T"? The engine code should be three letters.

Yes, also what plymouth 1952 said.

Thanks a lot guys, that helps.

Plymouth 52, there is a casting number on the Bell Housing, but the numbers are so messed up I can't tell what the last three are. I am pulling the front clip off and engine out soon to put a Jag Ifs under it, maybe I can determine what those casting numbers are then.

54nomore, there are no letters after the T. I have looked till I'm almost blind trying to find more letters. Hard on my old eyes.
