The only panel on my 49 Ford that had damage is the left front fender.

Originally, I thought the repair looked pretty good.

But, then I started looking at is closer, and it I think it needs some more work.

In the picture, the orange arrow shows where I think it was hit in the past.

The yellow circle shows where it "bulges" more than the passenger side.

A quick measurement shows that this side is "bulging" out, almost 3/4 of an inch more than the passenger side.

    How do I address this?

Can I run a shrinking disc over the "bulge" to reduce it?

Should I look for another fender?

    What would you guys do?

Just a guess without being able to look at it close. I think you will need to push the spot with the orange arrow forward and the bulge will follow. Try to find a place or two to get some measurements and compare left to right, maybe front of door or rocker to lower front fender lip.

quick check...how many fingers from front of wheel to fender on each side? If it's closer on the left ,remove the wheel and either pull or push the front of the fender forwards at the bottom as WingedExpress stated.. that should suck the wheel-arch in towards the centre of the car.
Make sure theres no kinks in the lip. If theres kinks or splits...the edge of the arch will be really weak and it'll most likely move back out.
The thing is...you might have to suck it in more than you think it needs (being carefull not to buckle the fender above the arch) to allow for a bit or spring back.
Just go slow and sneak up on it and if you have any problem let us know. PM me if you like.:)

You are on the right track. IF it was hit there that portion is pushed back and like others have said you need to move that back to normal and it should "drag" the hump out of the rear portion.

Do some measuring on that front portion compared with the other side to see how much it needs to be moved forward again to be in it's proper position.

Then borrow or rent a potra-power and start moving it while someone measures and watch that hump go away.

Just be sure to anchor the back of the fender at the door gap so you don't just pull the whole fender forward and keep an eye on that gap while pushing it back into position.

Or better yet set the door gap first as it looks a little bigger at the bottom now and that may be part of your problem.
