    HELP?

About sharpening tungsten...I have a bench grinder that I will use for a dedicated tungsten grinding wheel. What kind of affordable grinding wheel can I use? Diamond wheels are too expensive.

You can use a standard wheel, but you just have to dress it more than diamond.

A friend just bought the Eastwood tig set up,I told him never get a welder less than 200 amps, you can always turn it down.
He stated that he wanted it for aluminum and thin stuff and it would be fine.
Fast forward three months and his skills are improving as well as his desire to weld bigger and bolder prodjects.
He now admits its too small for him. Hold out until you can find or afford a larger welder.
As far as the mig/tig debate, grinding takes time as well. A good tig welder may be slower than a good mig welder but the tig welder needs very little prep as compared to the grinding needed to get the mig welds in the same condition.
Your going to spend time on the job your doing I rather spend it welding instead of grinding.
This is for sheet metal of coarse, every job has its own set of rules so there is a place for all processes.
