I have never seen one until today, this thing looks like a Fulton sun visor, but in clear blue.It has all the mounts I think, and is probibly for a 30's-40's car as it has a bracket for the split windshield.I google searched it,and checked e-bay and found nothing.I don't see any name on it anywhere.I bought it today at a swap meet, any ideas as to maker, vintage or value.I am sorry, don't have picture ability....Thanks Mike
I picked up one with a 50 Plymouth 2 door. Carport caved in and broke it and both windshields. Did'nt see any name on it. Frank
Have never seen one but have seen pictures. There is an episode of Peter Gunn (filmed in 1958) that shows a 51 Pontiac sedan with one, getting blown up. Plexigl*** was introduced in 1939 and first saw use in WW2 in aircraft canopies. Someone must have made the plexi visors in the late 40s or early 50s when visors were a thing. If exposed to the sun they would have a life of about 10 years before they got dull and cracked. Any that survive were probably stored inside.
I saw a lot of the 'plexi' types in the little books & late 50's J.C Whitney catalogs made with every color possible, I rememebr not to long ago seeing a green one on a early 50's Chevy. I would say they they didn't last because of U.V rayes & not the right cleaning supplies then becoming brittle.
