I can't say if it's the BEST, but the 70-81 Camaro seems to be the most popular. Similar year Novas work too...look for the rear-steer models. Both are a little wide, but offset rims or narrowed control arms will fix that. Bryan
An S10 front clip will be the cheapest/easiest to find parts for...Don't know about the width, or the way the frame rails match up, but 90% of my daily's have been S10's. I love everything about 'em.
Try doing an advanced search using the word "clip" in the thread ***le...it's a good idea to get to know what you're up against if you don't already. Bryan
got a buddy who used an s 10 on his '53 its really too narrow. I used an '80 cutless on my '50 shoebox its perfect and a parts car is cheaper than a camero
Is there realy anything wrong with the front end under it now?? Not having a go but why do you want to put a new front under it??
Straight Axle LOL Yeah no ****, I went all through my 53 bel air, dropped uprights, all new everything, kingpins, spindles, brakes, you name it. I got it nice and lowered and it drives down the road straight as a pin. The stock front end is tough, easy to work on too.
Man there's someone here in town that has an S10 under a bel air, and NEVER LOWERED IT! Seriously, this thing looks like a ****in 4x4 bel air.. just way uncool.
