Yes, bead rolling...not bed rolling. I have some copies from green mountain parts on what they sell for front floors for a 49-50 merc. I need to make new ones for mine, as they are rotted out fred flintstone style. In thier pictures they show a small bead rolled into the floor for bracing. Does anyone know of a particular size these need to be? They look skinny, but i would imagine about 1 inch or so. What's cool about these pictures is that they have dimensions included. I figure that i can make my floor parts for much cheaper than the 125 bucks per side that they charge. So what can you tell me?
hey barts i talked to the guy you bought the merc from he mentioned something about the tags? he wants the old tags etc you know what im talkin about not trying to hiest yer post but are they still on the merc in question ill grab em? you dont need a floor what are you talkin about???ha hahaha Tuck
tok unless you want an "accurate" reproduction of the original floor panels you need not be overly concerned with the width of the beads. in reality all the bead does is stretch the metal over a small area thereby reinforcing the panel and preventing the dredded "oilcan effect" oh and by the way I can make those for you for 100 each and save you lots of bucks.. or you can get your**** over to my place and make your fin''' own
tuck...they are still on it...however, i was thinking of getting that a****le as well, then giving him back a clean 49****le with the original tags. ya know what i mean.. but i need the numbers off of it. so i can fill out the form correctly. Sawzall, i will come over to your place...what's your schedule like..i work until about 5:30 then i am free. Good about the beads, i didn't think it mattered that much, but you never know? at...least...i never know.
i would like to but i can't afford to store it anywhere, or get it out here. Sarah is getting a job soon, so we will have some extra dough. I will then be able to play with ideas of what to do, it will probably be awhile, but i am trying to get done what i can while the sun is still out.
