Hi..I am researching doing my rocker panels and floor pans on my '54 Customline 2dr. I have a couple of questions. - Apparently there are 'inner' and 'outer' rocker panels...I think I need both, but what do I do for the area from the back of the door to the front of the wheel well? Should I get the rockers for a 4dr. I also noticed some 2dr rockers come in an 'extension' version. Any advice or suggestions? - On the floor pans, I guess you just drill new holes for the frame mounts and seat mounts....is this correct? - Any comments on who makes the better replacements? I have looked at the following suppliers: Mac's, EMS, CGFordparts.com, Cl***icautoparts.com, Cl***icfabrication.com, Rockauto.com, Autobodyspecialt.com, FRPartsstore.com, and Fixmyrust.com Thanks for the help and suggestions.
When you replace the rockers , it is always best to replace the inner and outer rockers together . I also get the long or extended rockers because you can't stretch the short ones if you need the extra sheet metal . It's also just a little more . When you replace the rocker only remove one at a time . The rocker help support the body from making sagging in the middle . On the floors don't cut them all out too . Do one side at a time . On the body mount hole if you order new ones , they will be there so make sure you line them up befor you weld the in . Floors are easy and flat unlike quarters . I would suggest calling or order on line EMS body panels . They are a huge supplier and they supply most places anyway . The prices are all the same on the EMS products they anyone sells to you . They are not cheap knock off either ! Good 18ga. USA metal and made here in the USA ! I have used their products and some other brands and you can see the difference right away . I ONLY buy EMS panels now . If you need anymore help let me know . I will be glad to help you with anything you need . Jim
