I've got one of the early Ford quickchange conversions that is the flipped over center section with the conversion pieces welded onto it. What is the proper name or brand name for one of these? This one came out of an OLD homebuilt supermod that I parted out and is pretty complete, with 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern hubs and brakes. I have the aluminum gear cover and 1 or 2 sets of gears, but it's missing the lower shaft and drive yoke. Is this the same shaft as a Halibrand V8, that I can buy from Speedway or elsewhere?
Debating selling this thing as is or completely rebuilding the whole thing and selling as a complete "ready for your car" type of thing. I've had quite a few Halibrands, Franklands, and Winters rears apart during my sprint and super building and racing days, but am unfamiliar with what may or may not fit one of these and what it might be worth when rebuilt. Probably not as much as a Halibrand V8, I'd venture, but is somewhat unique.
    Appreciate any opinions / insight.

If it's homemade, who knows what parts will fit? But, many of the early homebuilts did have the same dimensions as a Halibrand. Just have to take measurements and compare.

As for rebuilding for more $$, personally I'd rather buy it as-is and rebuild it myself.

Thanks for the info. Searching 'speed demon' got me to several other threads and got me the info I needed. Appears to be a Frankland and has been adapted to '50 Ford F1 axles and brakes. Interesting. Some of the weld work is a little shoddy and I'll have to redo it, but should be a nice unit when done, although with a locked rear and no differential not sure that most people would want to run it on the street.
    Thanks again,
    Bud
