I got a few things done this weekend despite the raging blizzard Friday night and Saturday morning. But early Saturday morning I built a nice little fire in my Ben Franklin stove in the shop. Narrowed the wishbone mount (twice). Stickwelded. Built an 8 foot tall snowman. After I got the wishbone mount in I could get the clutch cross-shaft bracket in place, then the pedals. Then I got the spindle arms heated and bent, draglink straightened, and Sunday I got the steering box mounted. And got the cowl top put in place and bolted. Then I bolted in the right side header. Then I placed the floor in and seat so I could sit in it and make vroom vroom noises. Next I need to get the front brakelines routed.
the progress is looking great! You really got alot done this weekend. Thanks for the picture, looks good !!
More done: Pulled the old wiring "harness" out of a box and reinstalled it for now. I would like to redo most of it with cloth covered wire this summer. Here is the main control panel put back in: Got the front brake lines put in. Got the fuel lines reinstalled: Here's the fuse panel and voltage regulator mounted inside the old tank: New radiator in and ready to fire up: I did get the motor to fire up and run for awhile. I have to figure out how to get the video to link to here. Right now I am working on getting the overdrive cable hooked up: I'll have some pics when I get the lower bracket installed. I also painted the windshield frame: Now need to get the brakes dailed in and some other things to get done.
Worked on getting the overdrive cable and switch installed. Made an aluminum bracket from part of an old road construction sign: Here it is installed: And the cable T pull and 75 amp pull switch: The bottom didn't line up like I had hoped, so it will get redone at some point. Maybe make whole new face plate out of AL for the starter switch etc. I need to relieve the old crossmember a little to fit the soleniod in place.
I love that picture.. some one not in the know would probably wonder why you took a picture with yer pole in the background. It soo rad. Dude you made the maden voyege!
The coupe is lookin good Jay, glad to see it back on the road. I'll be bringin your dash rail and some yummy 99s Black Laquer to the BBQ. See ya in a couple weeks.
Jay, You are one amazing guy. How do you juggle a family, work and rebuilding your coupe? I'm retired, my kids are grown and gone and some days I just sit in my garage and stare at my roadster in a million pieces. Glad to see you're back on the road. Good job. Paul
