Hot Rods Quick AV8 crossmember question???

hey fellas, what kind of cross member is this in the pics. I am running a 41 flatty with 41 sideshift transmission in a model a frame.

I know I can make one too, but what are these out of? thanks!

follow up question...

so i was out there today sanding the frame, and i want to put this in this weekend.

Is there supposed to be some sort of metal "saddle" that the mount at the back of the trasmission fits on? or are people just drilling holes in the f1 crossmember and putting spacers...

I saw this pick here on the HAMb..
