I found a Frankland quick change but it looks a little different than most I've seen. Specifically, there are "ears" for lack of a better term at the bottom of the quickchange cover. I looked at the current Frankland catalog and see nothing like it. FWIW it is supposed to be out of a latemodel stock car. Anyone able to tell me more about this? Parts available?[IMG]

That is your basic Frankland quick change, the big ears on the cover hold a bit of extra fluid for long laps. Those covers are called speedway or super covers, but I call them ugly covers cause they are so damn ugly.

Thankfully a regular cool looking cover will bolt right in place of your ugly cover and you can get pretty much any part you need from Winters, Frankland, Speedway, Ebay etc.

Hit the search button, there are lots of good threads about running quick changes on teh street. Nothing too tricky, but there are some things you need to know about brakes, axles differentials and stuff.

    Good luck, -Abone.

PS. I have 50K plus miles on my Frankland quickie with no trouble at all.

yep,its a super cover,if you not changing gears every week its a good thing to have, extra oil, extra cooling.
Back in the day we never saved the lube, just dumped it on the ground at the track.
we were not too concerned about losing the extra lube, but the extra time filling the cover was important.

  4. I will trade you a regular cover like Abone pictured for your super cover.
