Technical Quick Change Pinion?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by cadillacoffin, May 19, 2014.

  1. Can you use the ring and pinion from an open drive banjo rear axle to setup a quick change? If it makes any difference its a Rodsville QC.

    In short - No.

An open tailshaft pinion has a taper and a keyway which attaches the tailshaft yolk. It looks just like a rear axle.

A QuickChange require six splines to fit the q/c gears.

There are 10 spline open drive pinions. That still doesn't mate with the 6 spline change gears that are generally available. Sorry!
