Hey guys, So I've read all about installing new axle tubes in the new-style quick change rear ends, but what about removing them? I just bought a Winter's Quick change with aluminum tubes, and want to put in steel tubes with a Ford Big Bearing end. Can I just heat the side bell with a heat gun, and pack ice in the tube (basically same process as installing them) and slide the tube out, or are they pretty much permanent? Thanks -Jason
Find your local circle track Q.C. guy. He can press it out with his equipment....they do it all the time! Then when you are ready, he can press the new tubes in for you. He can also give you some advice too!
That's what I'm doing. Besides knowing what to do, the local circle track guys have odd stuff like the proper bolts to put it together correctly.
Give the boys @ Hot Rod Works In Nampa ID. Nick & Ken Smith a call, They sell Winters Products & build QC's, They'd be able to handle the large bearing end adaption with no problem for a nominal fee. Be it known that they are not a dealer for for our line of QC's but they are more than capable of handling most anything that comes their way pertaining to driveline components. I didn't even think of just going to a local circle track guy! Seems that will be my best bet. Thanks a lot! -Jason
