Hey fellas, I have been itchin' to get in on some of the interesting conversations, so I guess I better introduce myself, so as not to get myself in newbie trouble. Name is Phil. I live in Northern Lower Michigan, near Traverse City. Beautiful....but cold. I am 31 and have been into cars since I started tearing apart and modifying my toys. I am not from a hot rodding family, but I must have the recessive gene for internal cumbustion curiosity and all things related. My current car is a 65 Buick Special 4 dr. deluxe. I rescued it from some unappreciative older folks. It's your typical low mileage, low rust auto, but I will make a bitchin', low, primered cruiser out of it. I decided to be self-employed, so projects are on the back burner until I figure out how to compensate myself AND Uncle Sam.... Talk at ya later
Welcome to outer space. you'll either love or hate ? this place, but with the intro. i think you'll survive. primer is in around here, so buy gallons of it. enjoy.
Welcome to the HAMB. Primer good, paint roller bad. "newbie am I" Are you into starwars? You sound like Yota. Yota's cool.
Welcome to the HAMB. My Mom had a 65 Special deluxe she bought new, it was a fun car but not popular when I was commin' up. She traded it for a '48...Well this aint about me. Has it got the 6 or the real mill? I guess the big guy hence the handle.
Beulah, Michigan??? I didn't realize that there were any hot rodders up there! Took several family vacations near there on Big Platte Lake as a kid. Stayed at the Rustic Resort cottages and got to know the family that owned them quite well. Three kids...Kelly, Clayton and Brianda...don't know WHY I can still remember their names and faces so well?!? That was late 70s/early 80s...entertainment was seeing Smokey And The Bandit at your local drive-in! Anyhoo...welcome to the HAMB...being from Up North doesn't exclude you from being GAY, though...that stigma covers ALL of Michigan!!!
Welcome about from a fellow Buick owner. Mine's a '59 wagon that's been going nowhere since last spring. As long as you're thick skinned you'll love this place. There's a lot of knowledge around here so bring on your questions. dennis
