Just a quick post to let everyone who has pitched a hotrod know that cameras will start rolling in April on DEUCE OF SPADES. Since my last post I completed my first film. All the filming as well as editing is done, the website has been completed and the trailer is now online. ONE DOWN - ONE TO GO> Everything went far better than I expected and the results exceeded my expectation. I am well pleased with all the gear I bought, it was so well worth the money. The quality of the footage is phenomenal. I now proceed full steam ahead with the hotrod movie. LAST CALL FOR HOTRODS. IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR IN THE FILM, PM ME NOW. You can still get in if you are local to Los Angeles. I would not wait too long though... Other updates: I have now officially become a filmmaker and Director of Photography, I also got a big write up in NITRO magazine, France's largest hotrod magazine and they are fully behind the DOS project. I also got a big interview with gasbyonline one of Belgium largest site on fancy cars, planes, boats and films. I also ended up on national TV here in the US, but that was not planned (hey, who's complaining?). But mostly I have been VERY BUSY making my first film. It was a LOT of HARD work but the most wonderful experience I have ever had. I am on CLOUD NINE. I have been far too busy to contemplate posting, or even blogging as of late. But I will post updates now and then when something cool happens. Not having my big Hamb thread anymore turned out to be a blessing because it has freed my time up considerably and I am now progressing with the film even FASTER. So it all worked out wonderfully well... THIS SUNDAY BIG HOTROD RUN up to Santa Paula's airport. I'll try to take some snap shots and post them here if I have a chance. No promises. There will be antique airplanes and hotrods a gogo. Really looking forward to it, all my many local hotrodder friends will be there. It's going to rule. Many blessings to all, FAITH
Glad to hear you're back on Deuce of Spades. If you haven't done the Santa Paula Airport deal before, you'll be a fan after. Kudos
Yes awesome gathering of hotrods and planes. I found a NARLY war plane there with a pin up painted on the side of it, which I am working on incorporating to a scene. The owner is very cool, has awesome old bikes too. He's accepted my invitation to have the plane in the film, now we need to get clearance from the airport, which might be a tough one. I also got a neat early 40's cadillac convertible and large property in the Santa Paula area to join in. The property has a 30's house on it and a 200 yard driveway!!! Just what I needed for my 1942 flashback. All in all, a good day. Sorry I was unable to take footage and cannot share any photos with you guys.
Oh I forgot to post the link to the trailer of the film I just completed. Sorry it has nothing to do with cars, but I did film it SOLELY for the purpose of preparing for the hotrod movie. And now I am READY Make sure to watch the movie trailer. It is not the final trailer, but close. There are some very narly shots in it, especially the storm timelapses. In the end it was well worth the gear upgrade and hard work. http://www.theparkbenchmovie.com/ Later,
