just got done replacing the inner and outer rockers on the 50 chevy...when i pulled the old off, the tubed floor supports were slam packed with sixty years of crud..hence why they needed replacing..sooo...is there a reason why ya cant use that "good stuff" canned foam to shoot up in the space between the rockers and floor supports to keep future stuff out....or should i just worry bout it in another 60 years

That foam would promote rot I believe... hold moisture and what not.

I would coat inside with weld thru coating and under coat inside the channel from a hole or opening that is exsisting or from inside. Try and seal up the best you can to keep **** out of there.

    my 2 cents...

Yes, canned foam makes rot. VW beetles used it starting in 71 right above the rear quarters around the "new" fresh air vents. That foam trapped moisture and even the roof and rain gutters rotted out badly, as well as the entire quarter panel.

that's why most of your floor supports, body mounts, rocker panels, door bottoms, etc. have holes in them from the factory , so water can drain and air can circulate. rustproof the best you can, but never fill it solid with foam, or anything for that matter.
