    Guys, dumb question.

1961 Olds Super 88. I think this box also interchanges with Olds up to 1966 but this is a 61.

Which port on the steering box is the high pressure in and which is the low pressure return? These got marked when I took this thing apart 2 years ago but the marks got worn off and now I forgot. I think the upper port, the one closer to the rag joint, is the high pressure in and the lower one closer to the engine is the low pressure return, but I don't remember for sure.

Also, this is not a factory application. This is not the factory engine, nor the factory PS pump or hoses, so those references are not available.

If anyone could verify this for me I'd great appreciate it.

Damn, I am supposed to know that answer off the top of my head but it has been 40 years since I worked on those models. The larger one should be the pressure side and the smaller one should be the return if they have different size fittings.

The port closer to the engine is the larger port, which would be the same as the diagram provided above. So I might have had this backwards in my head
