Is it a problem if I have a section of 1/4" line in a circuit that is otherwise all 3/16"? Does it create any kind of weird pressure issues? To be specific, this 1/4" line is midway from the m/c to the rear drum brakes... so it starts out as 3/16" then opens up to 1/4" for about three feet then narrows back down to 3/16" before reaching the wheels.

I'm trying to diagnose a soft pedal and want to check on this... just not sure if/how line sizing affects the hydraulics. Was thinking maybe that bigger section of line was absorbing some of my pressure or something..?

Its a '64 C10 I just converted to front disc brakes. New 1 1/8" dual m/c, factory combo valve, and an 11" booster. I've bled the hell out of it. Never had a problem bleeding brakes before so I don't think I did it wrong this time.

    No difference at all.

Pressure is equal in all parts of a sealed system, regardless of plumbing diameter.

Line size would affect flow, if you had flow. You have positive displacement. Whatever goes in, comes out.

Make sure that you have the pedal free play set, and your rear shoe drag set properly.

I like to use all 1/4", much easier to bend without kinking but mixing is fine.

    Never noticed any difference myself.
