I've just started messing around with the 1939 Plymouth sedan I picked up earlier this week and I noticed a lot of the tabs that hold the stainless trim on the car have rotted off and many pieces are loose or starting to come loose. What is the best way to fix this issue? Are there replacement clips available or a good way to fabricate some to hold it on? Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I'm pretty new when it comes to cars. For now I'm not planning on repainting anything on the car so I wasn't planning on removing anything. My goal for now is just to get it roadworthy before the winter. I posted some photos of this car in the introduction forum but here's more for those that didn't see it there.

I would take the trim and a clip from the car to an automotive paint supply store. last time I was in one they had a big rack full of trim clips.

First welcome to HAMB. Nice car!! I have a later running Chrysler 235 engine and trans out of a truck that would be SWEET in your car. BTW... Normally members do an intro before they post. The clips? You more than likly will have to make them. Not to many people making parts for the plymouths.. I might know someone in Nebraska yhat can help you, or if you send me a clip and the trim I could make them. Better if you do it though...
