Had a good build the past couple days. Seats, seat belts, heater, complete steering, brake pedal and M/C****y, throttle****y and several other things all installed between friday and today. I have a few other things to fit up and fabricate then ready to pull the body for final chassis build and body work. I can't decide wether or not to go ahaed and paint (yellow) or just run in black primer for a while and have some fun while working out the bugs. Later, Rusty.

I had to make several unplanned adjustments/ modifications on a few items, but nothing too troublesome. The heater is a bit of an eye sore, but I will try and clean it up and blend it in better on final build up. Lots of little items yet like fitting the rear doors and latching them, radiator still needs mounted along with trans cooler etc. I'm sure I'll hit a few more bumps on this road, but I do feel the worst is now behind me. I see no reason that it could not be ready for this years HAMB drags!!!

NIIIICEEEE Ride. I would not paint it yet. Just give it a thin clearcoat of lacquer to preserve the metal and spend a summer driving it and chipping away at your list of things to correct/complete.

    P.S I love a yellow Willys:

I would think about pulling the instrument panel rearward, maybe 6" to help conceal the heater and to make the steering column seem less intrusive into the driver's space. It should be simple to make side skirts, and even tilt the panel upward a little for better ergonomics. Good luck.
