Hello, new guy here. That was an awesome event. Does any one know if it was the chevy Yesterdays Child that rolled at the end of the track. Glad he was ok. Here are a few pictures I took. The first is a friend Gills chevy. He ownnes the Hot roda ranch here. I will also be adding some vids of the racing on you tube tonight.Hope you enjoy as much as I did
here is a link to my video page. I did the first of the Henery J since it was asked for. Sorry. I don't have any still pictures of it. I will be posting vids through the day. I figured this way no one had to search vid by vid http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=slowmotion4x4
As he said the HA/GRs were out too, first run in Cal!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=262571 It was a day of drag racing like it used to be, no circus just real cars making runs and people having fun. Big kudos to the guys that put this meet on. They know how to do it right!!
Just wanted to give a big thanks to Zombie and crew for putting on a great event. Anyone who didn't make it, shoulda. If this happens next year, GO MAN GO! The fuel altered side by side passes alone were worth the price of admission. If this show happens next year, and hopefully it will, show your support for a great idea and event and head out to Famoso. I will get off my soapbox now. D.
Dragfest ruled! Great atmosphere, many 4 speed cars running down the track, I've never seen so many gasser style cars in one place, I liked the way the cars drove down in front of the stands to get their time slips, side by side fuel altereds just can't be beat, one run by Mike Boyd in the winged express is worth the trip, the one handed burnout by Nanook was badass!! Backup girls were hot but goofy. Big thanks to Zombie and let's not forget Randy Winkle. When's the next one?
Thanks for the pics! Link thanks for posting some action photos, anybody else take pictures of Drag racing? Wish I were closer! Don
That Henry "J" was a Bad Hombre!! That thing hauled ass man!! Jimmy White P.s. Kev Get going on that Willy's man!!
"Yesterdays Child" is alive and well. The '56 that crashed was a B/Gas 8.60 car. Unfortunately we weren't racing just hanging out. WE WON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN. Ric.
